Rev. Larry D. Blake - Pastor - [Account] - If you have never had the opportunity to be in a Spirit-filled service, you will discover that expressions of worship which began with the Bible-time Christians are still practices among us today.
Here are some Bible-based explanations of our worship.
Join with us in our Christ-exalting worship as we praise God in Spirit and in Truth!
We pray aloud together because...
The Bible says,
"They lifted up their voices to God with one accord." Acts 4:24
We lift our hands because...
The Bible says,
"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD." Psalm 134:2
We sing with all our hearts because...
The Bible says,
"Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise and rejoice, and sing praise." Psalm 98:4
We play musical instruments because...
The Bible says,
"And all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments." 2 Samuel 6:5
We clap our hands and shout because...
The Bible says,
"O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph." Psalm 47:1
We dance before the Lord because...
The Bible says,
"Praise Him with the timbrel (tambourine) and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs." Psalm 105:4
We testify publicly of God's goodness because...
The Bible says,
"I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee." Psalm 22:22
We anoint with oil for Divine healing because...
The Bible says,
"Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." James 5:14
We allow the operation of the Spiritual gifts because...
The Bible says,
"When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation." 1 Corinthians 14:26
Church is meant to be exciting! Worship is the pouring out of our hearts in love and adoration for who God is; for His Holiness; for His Mightiness; to give to Him the glory and honor due to His Name! Praise is showing Him our thankfulness for all His goodness and mercy to us.
THIS IS WORSHIP THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED TO BE!
